Care – wavvve

Care isn't an afterthought — it's the part of ownership most people skip and later regret. A wavvve that's cared for stays soft, stays quiet, and stays with you for years. A wavvve that's neglected starts to feel different in the hand within months.

This isn't a long ritual. It's three small habits, in three small windows.

How you care for an object becomes how you feel about it.

Lubricant — what to use, what to avoid.

Always water-based. No exceptions for silicone-bodied pieces.

Silicone-based and oil-based lubricants will degrade the silicone surface over time, even if marketed as "body-safe." The damage is gradual and irreversible — small surface roughness, then dulling, then sometimes tackiness.

Water-based is also the easiest to wash off afterward. Use more than you think you need.

Charging, briefly.

Most wavvve pieces use either USB-C or magnetic charging. For magnetic charging — wipe the contact area before snapping the cable on. Magnetic charging means there's no exposed port to expose to moisture, but the contact pads themselves should stay clean.

Unused pieces still need a top-up every 2-3 months. Lithium batteries degrade faster when stored at full discharge. A 60-80% charge in long-term storage is ideal.

If something feels off.

"The silicone feels tacky or sticky."

This usually means it's been exposed to silicone-based lubricant or stored against another silicone piece. Wash thoroughly with warm water + toy cleaner. If it persists, the surface has likely degraded — contact us about replacement under warranty.

"The motor is making a new sound."

Most often a charging issue — try a full discharge + full recharge cycle. If the sound persists at multiple intensity levels, contact us with the order number.

"It won't hold a charge."

After 2-3 years of regular use, lithium batteries naturally lose capacity. Within the first year, this is rare and warranty-covered. Check that the cable and contacts are clean and dry first.

"There's discoloration on the surface."

Some surface discoloration over time is normal for silicone, especially in white or pale-cream pieces. It doesn't affect function or body-safety. Avoid pigmented fabric pouches, such as red or dark colors, which can transfer dye.

The deeper point.

A wavvve isn't a disposable object. It's something you choose to bring into the most private part of your day, and the care ritual is part of what makes it yours.

Done well, the rituals take less than 60 seconds total. They're not chores — they're the punctuation that makes a piece feel kept.
